In Reykjanes peninsula the mid Atlantic ridge rises from the ocean. More than half of the peninsula is covered with lava flows, some of which are only a few years or months old. We start by visiting boiling mud pools and hot springs. Then we drive through the village of Grindavik for roaring steam wents at Gunnuhver hot springs. Then we head to the so called bridge between the continents and the lighthouse on the westernmost tip of the peninsula with rich bird life in the summer.
